Bird Watching

The stillness and peace here is disturbed only by the sound of the corncrake. Many species of wildfowl stop here on their migration from the Arctic, Canada and Greenland.

The Iniskea Islands hold the largest flock of Barnacle Geese in Ireland.

The Annagh Marsh site is important for breeding waders (snipe, dunlin, lapwing and redshank). Annagh Marsh was also the most southerly breeding site for the rare red-necked phalarope.
